Scenic Walks
Heritage Trail through New Zealand's oldest suburb, Thorndon. Highlights include Bolton Street Memorial Park, Government Buildings, Parliament Buildings, National Library, National Archives, Premier House, Old St Paul's and the Katherine Mansfield Birthplace. Walk takes approximately 3 hours.

Lord of the Rings
Wellington was the main filming and production location for the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Shot in New Zealand between October 1999 and December 2000, you should experience Middle Earth in all its diversity whilst in Wellington.

View panoramic sights of the city from the top of Mt Victoria, watch the Interislander sail into the harbour and the planes go in and out of the airport.

Westpac Stadium
At the heart of this renaissance is the new "home" of Wellington Rugby – the 34,500 seat Westpac Trust Stadium, located in the heart of Wellington City.
Tours of the stadium are offered by arrangement only. Tours for groups can be scheduled on weekdays between 9am and 3.30pm.

Wellington Cable Car
One of Wellington's most popular tourist attractions. The cars run from Lambton Quay in the commercial heart of the city, tunnel under the corporate towers of The Terrace and emerges in Kelburn. The ride continues past Kelburn Park and the Victoria University to the top of Upland Road, where the Lookout, Carter Observatory, Planetarium and Cable Car Museum are located. The view from the lookout takes in the city's central business district and out across the harbour to the Hutt Valley, Eastbourne and Mt. Victoria. Visitors can take a return trip from the city, or walk back down through the gardens and historic Bolton Street cemetery, emerging across the road from Parliament.
Cars run every 10 minutes Mon-Fri 7am-10pm, Sat 8.30am - 10.00pm, Sun and Public Holidays 9am-10pm.
